Sporting biography
Julio Cesar Mirena Ortiz competes internationally in inline speed skating for Paraguay. At The World Games 2025 in Chengdu he was Paraguay's only athlete and delivered the nation's first-ever World Games medal, taking silver in the Men's 10,000m Points Race, edged by Spain's Francisco Jose Peula Cabello by just 0.086 seconds. World Skate reported that he also 'easily' won first place in the men's 5,000m Points Race at the same Games. In a Speed Talks interview he described building confidence and enjoyment in his racing from around 2021, and he was slated to race for Paraguay on home soil at the World Skate Games ASU26 in Asunción.
