ODYTA Summary

Spanish speed skater Nil Llop, 23, remains hospitalized after suffering severe spinal cord inflammation caused by an infection, according to the Royal Spanish Ice Sports Federation (RFEDH). Llop was in the Netherlands preparing for the upcoming season with his new professional team, Team X²O Badkamers, when he was admitted over the weekend. Medical treatment began immediately and is showing positive results, with signs of improvement in recent days, the federation said. Recovery will require an intense rehabilitation process whose duration cannot yet be determined. The favorable evolution could allow Llop to be transferred soon to a specialized hospital in Spain, where he can continue recovery closer to his family and environment. The RFEDH said it remains in constant contact with his family and has made available the means necessary to support him throughout the process. The federation also asked media and fans to respect the privacy of Llop and his family, and said any updates on his condition will be communicated through official channels of the federation and Team X²O Badkamers. Rollerzone noted that Llop is featured in an exclusive interview in its issue No. 9, which will be available this weekend in Pamplona during the Spanish Circuit Championships, and expressed support for him.
